How to Choosing and using different types of hair shampoo (What type of shampoo should i use?)

BestHairTreatment - Hair cleansers are an important step in maintaining clean, shiny hair. Cleansers work to remove dirt, oil, and product build-up. Gently cleansing the hair and scalp can turn limp, lifeless hair into squeaky-clean, shiny hair that is ready for styling. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to wash your hair every day. Unless you have baby-fine hair and/or a very oily scalp, cleansing a few times a week is plenty. Cleansing your hair too frequently can result in split ends, a dry scalp, and unruly, parched hair.

how to choosing best type of hair shampoo

Liquid shampoos

These contain surfactants to remove oils, dirt, and odors from the scalp and hair. Natural shampoos do not usually lather and sud as much as conventional cleansers. Nevertheless, they cleanse incredibly well. Liquid shampoos are applied to wet hair and massaged through from the roots to the ends of the hair, and then rinsed with warm water. They can be used a few times a week.

Dry shampoos

These make brilliant “quick fixes” for dirty hair. Dry shampoos are waterless and contain dry ingredients such as cornstarch, arrowroot powder, clay, and even rice powder. A small amount is sprinkled over the scalp and either massaged into or combed through the hair to soak up oil, remove dirt, and even boost volume. Dry shampoos are regularly perfumed with aromatic essential oils to eliminate odors. They can be used daily.

Baking soda

The “no-shampoo” protocol has become pretty popular recently. Baking soda is used to cleanse and purify the hair, and is then followed with a vinegar-based herbal rinse to balance out the pH level. Baking soda mixed with water (usually in a 1:3 ratio) is gently massaged into the hair and onto the scalp, and then rinsed away with warm water. Since baking soda is very alkaline, this particular cleansing method should only be performed once or twice a week.
